Are you a researcher interested in carrying out your research in Madrid?

The GUAIX Group is interested in supporting your application to the MSCA Individual Fellowships Calls. Our group can provide support in the preparation phase of the MSCA-IF grants.

GUAIX coordinates the efforts and activities of UCM researchers in the following fields:

  • Development and scientific exploitation of astronomical instrumentation for large facilities
  • Study of nearby disk and elliptical galaxies
  • Distant Star-forming galaxies
  • Light pollution

The group is formed by 20 UCM staff members and postdoctoral researchers, with the collaboration of Ph.D. and graduate students.

Our group is currently involved in the corresponding international consortia to develop several astronomical instruments for the 10.4m GTC telescope and the ELT Telescope:

EMIR: Espectrógrafo Multiobjeto en el infrarrojo, delivered to the 10.4m GTC Telescope on June 2016

MOSAIC: the future MOS for the 39m European Large Telescope

Other: FRIDA, MIRADAS

Data Reduction Pipelines Development: The main expertise of the group is currently related with Data Reduction Pipelines for optical and near-infrared instruments, but new projects are on the way.
