On 25–26 November 2026, UCM will host Extragalactic Continuum Science in the SKA Era: A Spanish Community Workshop, organised by GUAIX member Shane O’Sullivan (UCM) and Javier Moldón (IAA-CSIC).

The workshop will bring together researchers across Spain to explore how the SKA telescopes will advance our understanding of galaxies, including star formation, supermassive black holes and cosmic magnetism. Discussions and breakout sessions will help participants develop collaborations and prepare science cases for SKAO Science Verification and the first observing cycles. PhD students and early-career researchers are particularly encouraged to participate.

This is the first in a new series of national thematic meetings on SKAO science, coordinated by the SKA-Spain office in collaboration with the Spanish astronomical community.
